Is hair transplant painful?
Hair transplant is a painless operation. Our doctors use local anesthesia to numb the recipient and donor area. So you do not feel any pain during the operation. After the operation, it is quite normal to experience a mild pain, swelling and itching. Our doctors will provide you proper painkillers.
How to prepare for a hair transplant?
When you get into contact with our customer service, they will inform you about what you need to do before and after the operation. These may change according to the type of operation you undergo. But you should not have a haircut just before the surgery. Also, you should stop smoking at least 24 hours before surgery and you should stop drinking alcohol at least 3 days before your surgery.
How long does it take to recover after a hair transplant?
Recovery time depends on your skin type and how quickly your head is healing but any visible signs of surgery should have healed after around a week. Approximately 2 weeks after the operation, the implanted hairs will fall out together with crusts or start to fall out after the crusts as the inserted grafts are weak after the operation. This hair loss starts from the 10th day and lasts until the end of the first month.
Your hair will start to grow after the third month of operation. Each month the hair volume will increase by 10% and will continue to increase throughout the first year. After about a year you will have reached the final result.
How is the post operation process?
On the 1st day of the operation, some reddish liquid will leak out in the donor area at night, please do not be alarmed, only 2% of this liquid is blood and 98% of it is the saline solution that was injected during the operation.
You may feel an itch on your scalp, which is perfectly normal. It is important not to scratch the scalp. You can only gently dab your scalp with your fingertips.
Do not shave the transplanted area for 3 months after the operation with a razor or with an electric shaver. You can only use scissors for the transplanted area. You can cut other areas as usual after the hair transplant.
After the 10th day of the operation, you must gently clean the crusts with the palm of your hand so that your scalp is free of the crusts.
By the 12th day, the scalp must be completely free of crusts and dead tissue.
